REDFOX hard water softeners significantly extend the life of connected devices such as dishwashers, boilers, coffee makers, ice makers or convection ovens. Hard water is water with a high mineral content. The most obvious consequence of hard water is so-called limescale. The easiest way to solve hard water problems is to use a water softener. During softening, hard water first flows through a special resin (katex), where calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions. Gradually, the resin becomes saturated with calcium and magnesium, and in order to regain the ability to absorb these two elements from water, a second phase, the so-called regeneration, is necessary. During this regeneration, the resin is saturated with sodium from the salt solution. Water softened in this way retains all its natural properties and remains healthy and drinkable. Regeneration of plasticizers is done with salt in the form of tablets. Manual water softeners need to be actively regenerated on a regular basis by adding salt to the softener and then rinsing the water.
